- 4 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
- 1/2 Cup Light Brown Sugar (packed)
- 3 Firm Bananas, sliced on the bias (use greenish-yellow bananas)
- 1/2 Tsp Ground Cinnamon
- Pinch of Nutmeg
- Pinch of Salt
- 2 Tbsp Bourbon (Or you can use the “more traditional” Rum)
- 1 Tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
In a large skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir well.
Let the brown sugar cook for 2 minutes and then add the sliced bananas and pinch of salt. Gently stir the bananas so that they are coated in the sugar. Cook the bananas for about 3 minutes until they are soft and starting to caramelize in the sugar.
Add the vanilla and the bourbon (or rum). Carefully, ignite the Bourbon (using a long match or candle lighter). Continue to cook until the flame dies out and then remove from heat.
Best when eaten immediately. Enjoy!
