- 15 Slices Bread
- 8 Large Eggs
- 3/4 Cup Milk (any milk you like)
- 1/4 Cup Light Brown Sugar, packed
- 1 Tbsp Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1 Tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1/4 Tsp Ground Nutmeg
- Pinch of Salt
- Unsalted Butter for Cooking French Toast (1 tbsp per each batch, about 4-5 tbsp)
- For Topping: Confectioner’s Sugar, Maple Syrup, Berry Chia Jam (see recipe link)
In a large, flat bowl, add the 8 eggs and whisk really well. Add the milk, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt. Whisk really well until the brown sugar is dissolved and all of the ingredients are well mixed.
To cook: melt 1 tbsp of unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Submerge a slice of bread into the batter and shake off excess. Add it to the skillet and repeat 2 more times (or however many slices your skillet can hold).
Cook the French toast about 2 minutes per side until golden brown. Flip and cook about another 2 minutes until golden brown. Remove to a plate or a casserole dish and cover with a clean, dry towel.
Add another tbsp of butter to the skillet and melt. Then dip more bread in the batter and repeat steps above. Batter should make about 15 slices.
To serve: top with butter, confectioner’s sugar, maple syrup or berry chia jam. Enjoy!
