Ingredients

  • 1/3 Cup Baking Soda
  • 8 Oz Container Crescent Rolls (8 ct.)
  • 24 Mini Beef Li’l Smokies
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 2 Tbsp Everything But the Bagel Seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp Unsalted Butter, melted

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Unroll an 8 0z package of crescent rolls. Cut each of the 8 crescent rolls into thirds (lengthwise). Roll one mini beef hot dog up into a crescent roll strip, starting with the wide end and ending with the thin end. Press the end into the dough so that it won’t come loose. Repeat 23 more times, using all of the crescent roll dough.
  • In a small sauce pot, add the baking soda along with 6 cups of water. Bring to a rapid boil for 2 minutes. Turn off the heat. Using a slotted spoon, dunk 2-3 of the mini wrapped dogs into the hot water for 15-20 seconds. Carefully remove and set on the prepared baking sheet. Continue until all of the dogs have been dipped in the hot baking soda water.
  • Whisk the large egg in a small bowl and brush each of the mini dogs with egg wash. Top each one with a sprinkle of the Everything But the Bagel Seasoning.
  • Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes (on the baking rack that is second from the top) until the pretzel dogs are a deep golden brown.
  • When right out of the oven, lightly brush with the melted butter. Let them sit on the pan to cool for a few minutes before removing and eating. Best enjoyed when warm. Enjoy!
