I did it! I made it through my first whole year of blogging. Well, kind of. I took a few months off late Spring-Summer. I was going to say that I did it to hang out with my kids more, and I’m sure that I did do that, but really it was because I needed a mental break. It’s hard to start a blog, especially a food-based one. I had been putting out new recipes about every other day and WHEW- that’s a lot of work! But it’s so fun to look back and see how far I have come in a year. So I decided to make a list of the Top 10 Cupcakes and Sarcasm Posts in 2019!
It still shocked and amazed me how well Cupcakes and Sarcasm ended up doing even despite my falling off of the radar. Tens and tens of thousands of you came to check out the site! I finally reached that 100k monthly viewers on Pinterest. I am the number one google search result for MORE than one recipe. And in the top 5 for multiple others. Which is so cool!
After looking at the site results for the year 2019, I’ve compiled a list of my 10 most popular posts. So let’s not waste anymore time…
Here are the Top 10 Cupcakes and Sarcasm Posts in 2019 👇🏻
#10. Cheesy Pepperoni Bread
This Cheesy Pepperoni Bread is one of the fastest and easiest things that you can make. It’s also super delicious. I love making it for an appetizer or for a quick lunch. It’s always one of the first things to go at parties and my kiddos absolutely devour it. This shortcut bread takes about 20 minutes from start to finish and it goes to show all of the crazy good things that are possible with a roll of crescent dough. And cheese. You can never go wrong with cheese.
#9. Ground Turkey Baked Ziti
Oh my goodness this Ground Turkey Baked Ziti is so good. I can’t think of anything that is more comforting that a big bowl of pasta. This bowl of comfort is made with a from-scratch red sauce and features a healthy swap of ground turkey for (the more typical) ground beef. It’s meaty, saucy, cheesy, and totally divine. Seriously, you are only about an hour away from this insanely yummy dish.
#8. Faux Chicken Carbonara
This Faux Chicken Carbonara is one of my favorite dishes of all time. Let me say that once more. Of all time. I don’t say that lightly. This recipe was so near and dear to me that I almost didn’t share it to the blog. I have been making this Carbonara for years and years. It has shown up at countless birthdays, special occasions, and was even the main dish for Christmas one year. It never disappoints.
#7. Better than the Lunch Lady’s Peanut Butter Bars
A recipe created out of total jealousy (and love) ended up being one of my most popular recipes in 2019. Just like so many others, I, too, used to enjoy peanut butter bars on the reg back in my school days. They are so simple and yet so incredibly delicious. Made with only a handful of ingredients, these bars take only about 10 minutes to prepare. Let them chill in the refrigerator for a little while and you’re magically transported back to the days of your youth.
#6. Shredded Beef Ragu with Pappardelle
I can easily say that this is one of the most delightful and impressive dishes that I have ever made. It is insanely flavorful and develops even more flavor the more time that you let it cook. This Shredded Beef Ragu with Pappardelle is one of the very few leftovers that I not only enjoy, but actually look forward to.
#5. Crispy Baked Parmesan Garlic Fries
These Crispy Baked Parmesan Garlic Fries are a slightly adapted recipe from Evolving Table. They are some of the best fries that I have ever had. Not made, but *had*. It seems crazy that a recipe for baked fries can be so mouthwatering, you won’t even miss the fact that they aren’t fried. They are cheesy, garlic-y, and will disappear right before your eyes. So if you’re making them for a crowd, act fast. Or just make them for yourself. 😉
#4. Garlic Butter Turkey Meatballs with Lemon Zoodles
Healthy can be delicious. If you aren’t convinced of that, you need to give these Garlic Butter Turkey Meatballs with Lemon Zoodles a try. This adapted recipe from EatWell is not only totally yummy, but it is also on your table in 30 minutes or less. The meatballs are crispy, buttery, and garlic-y. The zucchini noodles are tender-crisp and lemony. They make such a delicious pairing.
#3. Japanese Steakhouse-Style Shrimp Dinner
If you’ve seen one onion volcano, you’ve seen them all. Don’t get me wrong, while I love a good onion volcano, sometimes I’d like my hibachi withOUT the show. This recipe for a 3-course Japanese Steakhouse-Style Dinner includes fried rice, veggies, and shrimp. The shrimp can easily be swapped out for chicken or steak, but the shrimp has always been my favorite. Staying at home doesn’t mean that you can have your favorite restaurant dinners.
#2. Oven-Roasted Home Fries
I’m not going to lie, while compiling the Top 10 Cupcakes and Sarcasm Posts this one came as a bit of a shock to me. These Oven-Roasted Home Fries are killing it right now on the site (and Pinterest). I mean, they are totally and utterly scrumptious, but I just didn’t think they’d peak in popularity because of their simplicity. But maybe that’s why they should be so popular. Simplicity can be a wonderful thing. These home fries have a super short list of ingredients, are easily customizable, and are waaaay better than any frozen bag of potatoes that you can find in any grocery.
#1. Turkey Chili- the Best Panera Copycat
This recipe was created out of pure love AND anger. Panera Bread Co. has the tastiest turkey chili. The problem is that it is seasonal and it will disappear one day off their menu without saying goodbye. At least that’s what happened to me one day. But now you don’t have to say goodbye to this amazing chili; you can make it at home! This recipe has consistently been one of my top performing posts, far and away. And I totally get why. It’s amazing!
There you have it, folks! The Top 10 Cupcakes and Sarcasm Posts of 2019. I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for stopping by and for checking out the site throughout the year. I appreciate all of the love and support and can’t wait to show you all of the great things that I have planned for 2020!
