A Little Bit About Me:
Welcome to Cupcakes and Sarcasm! My name is Maggie and I’m a wife (to Todd) and a stay-at-home mom of two fantastic kids, Ethan and Avery. I grew up in Columbus, Ohio and now live in Northeast Ohio with my family and two dogs. We moved here a few years ago from a small town, north of Pittsburgh, and that was where I started cooking. It started out of necessity- because there really aren’t a lot of options in some of the small towns in Western PA- but then I really fell in love with cooking. And baking.
One of the driving factors for me in learning to cook was remembering my childhood and that almost every single night, my mom came home from work and made dinner. Our family all sat together at the table and ate (no tv, no phones). Still to this day, I consider the fact that she was able to pull that off almost every night as one truly incredible accomplishment. I’m a SAHM and some days I find it near impossible to do.
Besides cooking and baking, I’ll also talk about life with my husband, 2 kids and 2 dogs. Oh, we also have a 4 year old goldfish. Seriously. Four. Years. Old. I had no idea that goldfish could even live that long.
Our family loves being outdoors and traveling. We also really love catching a movie together.
I love to read. And write. When I was a kid, I was constantly writing short stories and poems. I always secretly wanted to be an author which is something more present on my mind these days as my kids become older and more independent.
So what can you expect from Cupcakes and Sarcasm? A lot of recipes for one. I cook a homemade meal pretty much every single night. It’s a passion. The recipes that I share will all be something that I have personally made and loved and I think that you’ll love them too. You can also expect to find things that I find relevant in sharing as a woman, a wife, and a mom.
I hope that you enjoy this site as much as I have enjoyed creating it.
